WordPress Website Manage - Make Our Website All It Could be!

Volunteer Website Manager: WordPress and Elementor.

Our Safe Space US is a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Southern Arizona and an expanding online community.

Help us make our website all we'd like it to be! Engaging, useful, speedy, welcoming, and running smoothly!

We're in search of an experienced, confident website manager who can take ownership of the maintenance, expansion, and optimization of our WordPress website.

Once all the bugs are worked out and small expansion is done, we look forward to days of basic maintenance of a great website that lets the world know how hard we're working to make life better for our community.

You'll work closely with our small but mighty digital team who work magic in the background for us.

What You’ll Do

• Take over an existing WordPress/Elementor site hosted on DreamHost
• Investigate slow loading, plugins, images, caching, and Elementor settings; recommending and implementing improvements.
• Check key pages, links, forms, donation access, and the calendar/Meetup connection on desktop and mobile to identify issues.
• Recommend practical improvements to the website’s structure and performance
• Update pages as needed and content and coordinate SEO changes.
• Work with our team to create a blog section, along with a straightforward process for publishing existing written material.
• Create a "resources" page/section where we can share links we know with folks who need them.
• Maintain WordPress, themes, and plugins, and check the site after updates.
• Keep an eye out for things the rest of us may not know to notice

About Our Safe Space US

We provide free educational, personal growth, creative, wellness, and community-building programs designed to help people learn, connect, and thrive. Our programming includes workshops, book clubs, writing groups, discussion groups, wellness activities, social gatherings, and community service projects. We meet online and in-person - meaning our community is all over the world and a great website is KEY to our community.

Time Commitment

Once we get past the initial hurdles, we anticipate an average of fewer than 3 hours per month.

This is a remote volunteer position. We communicate regularly and value responsiveness, teamwork, initiative, and a healthy sense of humor.
