    Position Summary:

    Own It Financial Education is seeking passionate and knowledgeable Volunteer Workshop Instructors to deliver engaging, easy-to-understand financial literacy and business education sessions to underserved individuals and families in the DFW area. These workshops equip participants with practical knowledge in budgeting, credit, taxes, investing, entrepreneurship, and more.

    Whether you're a professional in finance, business, education, or simply someone with a heart for teaching and helping others, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact-one Saturday at a time.

    Responsibilities:
    • Deliver one or more of our pre-developed workshop topics (materials provided), including:

      • Budgeting & Credit Basics

      • Debt Elimination

      • Taxes & Retirement Planning

      • Business Start-Up & Bookkeeping

      • Real Estate & Investment Education

    • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

    • Encourage audience participation and answer basic questions during or after workshops.

    • Provide feedback to staff on workshop outcomes and participant engagement.

    • Set up and break down materials or handouts (if applicable).

    • Arrive on time and represent Own It Financial Education professionally.

    Requirements:
    • Background in finance, business, education, or a related field preferred (but not required).

    • Strong communication and presentation skills.

    • Comfort speaking in front of small to medium-sized groups.

    • Commitment to equity, empowerment, and community service.

    • Must be at least 21 years old and pass a basic background check.

    Time Commitment & Scheduling:
    • Workshops are held on Saturdays, typically between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

    • Volunteer Instructors can sign up for as little as 1 Saturday a month, or up to 4, with 2 to 4-hour shifts per day.

    • Flexible scheduling-commit only to the dates that fit your calendar.
