ABOUT YES, M.I.S.S. INC.
Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preparing young women ages 14–21 for success in higher education and the workforce. Our entire model is built on one thing: direct, relational introductions between young women and working professionals. Without great professional volunteers, there is no Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc.
We have engaged 136 professional volunteers to date - from companies like IBM, Peloton, Tapestry, AON, and Visions Federal Credit Union. We are building the infrastructure to grow that number significantly.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As Volunteer Engagement Manager, you will own the full lifecycle of our professional volunteer relationships - from first outreach to post-event follow-up. You will recruit volunteers to participate in our in-person events and facilitate virtual programming. You will build the systems that keep volunteers engaged year over year, and you will supervise the Marketing Intern and Youth Empowerment Workshop Intern.
This is a relationship-driven role for someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with professionals and understands how to make volunteerism feel meaningful, not transactional.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
- Professional volunteer recruitment: LinkedIn outreach, corporate partnership coordination, board network activation
- Volunteer preparation: briefing packets, pre-event communications, talking point guides for each event type
- Volunteer experience: day-of check-in coordination, table/role assignments, real-time support during events
- Volunteer retention: post-event surveys, thank-you communications, re-engagement outreach, and stewardship
- Corporate volunteer pipeline: coordinating with HR and CSR contacts at partner companies to confirm annual cohorts
- Volunteer database: maintaining accurate records of volunteer contact info, industries, availability, and history
- Onboarding and day-to-day supervision of the Marketing Intern and Youth Empowerment Workshop Intern
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- A connector - someone who is energized by relationship-building and professional networking
- Experience in HR, talent, community relations, corporate social responsibility, or similar fields is a strong plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organized and follow-through oriented - volunteer management requires consistent, timely outreach
- Someone who genuinely believes in the power of mentorship and professional exposure for young people
