    Disability Partnerships Board Member (Volunteer)

Are you a CFO, accountant or finance professional looking to make a meaningful impact? Or do you have a background in mental health and behavioral health? Disability Partnerships invites you to join our Board of Directors and help shape the future of programs that empower individuals with disabilities.

    About Us

Disability Partnerships is a national 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Our work spans adaptive fitness and wellness, education and scholarships, economic empowerment and financial literacy, and affordable accessible housing and adaptive equipment, and we are now building a dedicated mental health program. We collaborate with nonprofits, government agencies, businesses, and faith-based institutions to drive change in underserved communities.

    Who We're Looking For

We are seeking volunteer board members with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

    • Accounting / Finance – CPAs, auditors, controllers, CFOs, financial analysts, and nonprofit finance professionals
    • Mental Health / Behavioral Health – licensed clinicians (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, psychologists, psychiatrists), behavioral health administrators, researchers, and program leaders

Ideal candidates will bring professional experience, a passion for disability advocacy, and a commitment to nonprofit governance. People with lived experience of disability or mental health conditions are strongly encouraged to apply.

Where Your Expertise Will Make an Impact

    • Finance & Accounting: Serve as support to the Board Treasurer and Finance Committee; review budgets, financial statements, and the annual Form 990; strengthen internal controls, audit readiness, and financial sustainability as we grow.
    • Mental & Behavioral Health: Help guide the design and launch of our mental health program; advise on evidence-based practices, ethics, and accessible care for people with disabilities; and connect DP with behavioral health partners and funders.

    Board Member Responsibilities

    • Support and promote our mission and programs
    • Provide strategic oversight, fiscal guidance, and program expertise
    • Serve on committees and take on special assignments
    • Participate in fundraising and donor engagement
    • Attend board meetings, retreats, and special events

    Term and Time Commitment

    • Term Length: Two years (renewable up to three terms)
    • Time Commitment: Approx. 3–5 hours/month, plus events and retreats (all meetings are virtual)
