Grocery Rescue Driver

South County Outreach provides critical support to people during times of financial hardship, this includes offering a dignified shopping experience in our food pantries, utilities and rental support, and educational guidance to take steps toward stability.

Our Food Program provides families with the nourishing ingredients and staples — like milk, butter, eggs, protein, and fresh produce — needed to make full meals, lunches, and snacks.

Responsibilities:

Our driver volunteers assist with picking up food donations from local grocery stores and food drives to deliver to the warehouse for sorting. Volunteers can drive the South County Outreach trucks or their own vehicle.

Time Commitment:

We are looking for weekly, ongoing volunteers that can commit to one shift each week (3 - 4 hours). Pickups typically occur between 7:00am - 10:00am.

• Hours vary depending on the daily pickup schedule.
• Monday through Thursday, occasional Friday/Saturday.

Requirements:

• Must provide copy of driver's license, driver's insurance, and a clean driving record.
• Must undergo driver safety training.
• Must be able to lift heavy boxes.
