AfroSabor is seeking a volunteer Grant Research Volunteer to help identify funding opportunities that support cultural programming, community events, and arts initiatives.
AfroSabor is a Black-centered Afro-Latin cultural organization based in New York City focused on community, belonging, and cultural preservation through dance, music, and social experiences.
This role focuses on research, organization, and funding discovery. The volunteer will help identify grants and opportunities that align with AfroSabor’s mission and long-term growth.
Responsibilities
- Research grant and funding opportunities
- Track deadlines and application requirements
- Organize funding opportunities and research materials
- Assist with grant preparation and administrative support
- Help maintain internal grant tracking systems
Qualifications
- Strong research and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented and dependable
- Strong written communication skills
- Interest in nonprofits, arts funding, culture, or community development
- Ability to commit a few flexible hours per week
This is a volunteer role ideal for students or early-career professionals interested in nonprofit development, research, public service, arts administration, or cultural programming.
AfroSabor is open to supporting students seeking academic internship credit through their university where applicable.
