Rockdale CASA is looking for individuals who have a heart for children and want to be a voice to abused and neglected children in the foster system of Rockdale County.
A CASA is a Court Appointed Special Advocate; someone trained and assigned to a case by the sitting Judge. These volunteer advocates get to know the children, talk to the parents, and attend court hearings and team meetings with social workers and counselors. They review records and make recommendations to the Judge, based on information gathered, regarding what is in the child’s best interest. A CASA becomes a much needed constant in the life of a child and remains assigned to the case until permanency has been established. CASA advocates believe every child has the right to a safe and permanent home.
