Be the Friendly Face Behind Every Lifesaving Blood Donation!
Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. Behind every successful blood drive are dedicated volunteers who help create a welcoming and positive experience for blood donors.
The American Red Cross Los Angeles Region is looking for friendly, dependable, and community-minded volunteers to serve as Blood Donor Ambassadors (BDAs) in Whittier, California.
As a Blood Donor Ambassador, you'll be one of the first people donors meet when they arrive at a blood drive. Your role is to help create a welcoming, organized, and comfortable environment so donors can focus on making a lifesaving difference.
What You'll Do
- Welcome blood donors and help create a friendly, positive experience.
- Assist donors with registration and check-in using Red Cross systems.
- Help donors navigate the donation process and direct them to the appropriate areas.
- Offer snacks and beverages to donors after their donation and help monitor the refreshment area.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure donors feel appreciated.
- Work alongside Red Cross staff and volunteers to support successful blood drives.
Who We're Looking For
- Friendly, welcoming individuals who enjoy helping others.
- Dependable volunteers with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Individuals comfortable using computers or tablets.
- Team players who can follow instructions and provide excellent customer service.
- Anyone interested in healthcare, community service, or supporting lifesaving blood donations.
No medical experience is required! Training is provided.
Volunteer Commitment
- Location: Whittier, CA, and surrounding blood drive locations.
- Shift Length: Typically 4–6 hours.
- Minimum Commitment: At least one shift per month for six months.
- Schedule: Flexible shifts based on blood drive availability.
