POSITION SUMMARY:
PACE Volunteers support patients and families during their time at Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital and Clinics. We do that by guiding or bringing patients and families to their appointments, helping departments in the building share information, and supporting the hospital's processes to ensure patient experiences are as good as possible. Duties include:
Answer the phone and record all staff requests for patient transport or escort service within the hospital and AMG Clinic. This includes the delivery of patient-related materials, including patient belongings, lab specimens, radiology films, etc. Must be able to clearly hear the staff request and to communicate to the PACE Transport Volunteer.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of training course provided by Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital, including, but not limited to the following: body mechanics, knowledge of hospital/clinic, location of departments and services, equipment usage, and patient safety. Completion of required performance checklists.
Experience:
None required. Technical skills a plus. Customer service background a plus.
Attributes:
Must be independent, self-starter with good communication skills. Multi-tasking skills a plus. Friendly, energetic, professional, empathetic personality, positive attitude.
Special Skills:
Display good interpersonal skills
Have a good public relations skills with the ability to remain calm, collected, and pleasant in numerous interactions during busy shift
Use good judgment and display patience in difficult situations
Remain in control at all times
Follow instructions
Perform duties independently
Manual dexterity
Present a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
Wear the designated volunteer apparel for PACE
Have a working knowledge of the hospital floor plan to ensure timely delivery of patients and/or patient-related items.
Be familiar with all transport-related equipment
Maintain confidentiality at all times.
