The AHope Day Center is a low barrier service for humans experiencing homelessness in Asheville NC that is open to clients from 8am to 1pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and 8am to 11:30pm on Wednesdays.
We are in need of kitchen volunteers that can commit to a weekly schedule. Shifts can be from 8am to 1pm or shifts can be shorter such as 8am to 12pm or 11am to 1pm.
Duties:
- Make and service coffee to clients
- Put out rescued food from local providers and food donations
- Replace food as trays are emptied
- Tidy and clean counters as food are being served
- Clean up cups/plates/bowls that are left in dining area
- Wash dishes
- Clean up kitchen at end of service
- Hand out items like plastic bags and water bottles when they are available

¿Cómo llegar?
You can park in the Firestone parking lot across the street from the building. If coming to the building early in the morning, there may be a line of clients. You can either politely has them to allow you inside or you can come to the back door to have staff let you in. If you are having difficulties, you can call the Assistant Director of Homeless Services. Her phone number will be provided following your application.
