Interacting with a friendly animal has the power to rekindle happy memories of beloved pets and provide joy and comfort, especially to those dealing with a life-limiting condition. Pet therapy sessions are casual interactions of specifically trained volunteer/animal teams with a patient for comfort or recreation. Those interested must be a trained handler and have a Pet Therapy certified dog registered with a recognized Pet Therapy organization that provides insurance. Pet Therapy certification training is not provided by HMH.
