Public Engagement Volunteer

Youth for Diabetes Awareness Association is looking for volunteers who want to make a difference in their local communities.

As a Public Engagement Volunteer, you will help spread awareness by distributing YDAA flyers at community locations, local events, schools (where permitted), libraries, or other public spaces. Volunteers will receive printable PDF materials and will submit photo proof or documentation of completed distributions.

Your outreach helps educate more people about diabetes and connects communities with valuable resources.

This is a long-term volunteer role, allowing you to participate whenever you're available and continue earning volunteer hours over time.

Responsibilities

• Print and distribute YDAA flyers
• Engage respectfully with community members when appropriate
• Submit proof of completed outreach
• Help increase awareness of diabetes

Once accepted, we'll let you know how many volunteer hours you'll earn for each piece you complete, and we can provide a verification letter for your hours if you need to submit them for a school, club, or scholarship requirement. You don't need any prior experience! A YDAA board member will be available to guide you, and we'll share detailed instructions along with examples of great work from other volunteers to help you get started. This is a great opportunity to build and strengthen your skills while making a real impact.
