Lead with Heart: Create a Safe Space for LA High Schoolers - Connections Facilitator (LA)

Note: This is an ongoing, in-person volunteer opportunity on Saturdays during the academic school year.

As a Connections Facilitator, you’ll co-lead a weekly social-emotional learning (SEL) circle for a small group of high school students. These Saturday morning circles are intentional, supportive spaces where students practice self-awareness, connection, and community-building through guided listening and reflection.

What You’ll Do

• Co-facilitate weekly SEL circles alongside another volunteer facilitator
• Hold space for students to share their stories, practice active listening, and reflect
• Collaborate with your co-facilitator and team to create a welcoming and inclusive environment
• Support students in building critical life skills like empathy, communication, and resilience

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need to be a counselor, teacher, or expert. In fact, facilitators aren’t there to “fix” anything. You’re there to hold space. We value:

• Presence and openness
• A willingness to model authentic listening and vulnerability
• An interest in building connections with youth and fellow volunteers
