Multiple Volunteer Opportunities to Put Your Skills to Good Use (Or Learn Some New Ones!)

Village of Hope provides a transitional home for women and children in the Tri-County area (Wicomico, Worcester, and Somerset) of the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland. We live our mission to promote self-sufficiency and to improve the quality of life among at-risk women and their children.

We are seeking kind-hearted, innovative and energetic volunteers to assist in various ways in the organization. Below are our current volunteer opportunities:

Administrative (M & W - Available Times: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

• Front Desk Coverage
• Filing Documents
• Create Forms, as needed
• Track & Record Supplies/Donations & Closet/Cabinet Maintenance
• Assist with Creating Event Flyers & Monthly Newsletter

Resource Room Support (M - Th - Available Times: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

• Assist with Updating Wicomico, Worchester and Somerset Program Directory for Families
• Assist with Updating Apartment Complex Listing & Applications
• Create Article in Monthly Flyer for Families to Update about Special Resource Room Information

Academic Support (M - Th - Available Times: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Evenings possible until 5:30/6 p.m.)

• Tutoring
• Mentoring
• Assist with Updating Listing of Academic & Summer Camp Programs
• Assist with Supply Cabinet Maintenance

Landscaping/Facilities (M - Th - Available Times: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

• Gardening/Plant Care
• Rock Garden Assistance

Planning & Events (M - Th - Available Times: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

• Attend Community Outreach Events to Assist with Booth Coverage
• Assist with Planning Annual Fundraising Event
