Reports to: Aixa Gonzalez, Volunteer Coordinator

    About us:

Hebni Nutrition Consultants, Inc. is a community-based, nonprofit agency formed in 1995 to educate high-risk, culturally diverse populations about nutrition strategies to prevent diet-related diseases. Hebni is committed to providing nutrition programs and services that empower and educate underserved and minority communities. Hebni’s vision is to be recognized as the premier source of nutritional information that enables individuals to improve their health by driving changes in daily cooking and eating habits and increasing their knowledge of strategies to improving nutrition related diseases.

    Position Overview:

Healthy Soles is a senior exercise program designed to promote physical activity, improve mobility, and enhance the overall well-being of older adults. We are seeking dedicated Volunteer Facilitators to help actively deliver and guide participants through our Healthy Soles Program. This is a consistent, ongoing volunteer position where you will be at the forefront of engaging our participants — not coordinating logistics, but leading the experience. Volunteers in this role are critical partners in helping our seniors age gracefully.

This role is ideal for someone who:

    • enjoys working directly with participants,
    • wants to make a meaningful, consistent contribution,
    • values community connection and empowerment.

    Key Responsibilities:

As a Volunteer Facilitator, you will:

    • Facilitate program sessions, workshops, or activities according to established curriculum and pacing.
    • Engage participants in discussion, learning, and hands-on activities.
    • Create a positive and supportive atmosphere that encourages participation.
    • Maintain accurate attendance and session notes, sharing feedback with the staff lead.
    • Communicate regularly with program staff about participant needs or insights.
    • This role is active facilitation, not volunteer coordination — you will lead the experience during each session you attend.

    Weekly Time & Commitment

    • Hours: Approximately [X hours] per week
    • Ongoing commitment: Minimum of [e.g., 3–6 months] to ensure continuity for participants
    • Attend a brief orientation and training session (scheduled prior to first session)
    • Seniors will walk around Lake Lorna Doone park every Tuesday and Thursday from 7am-8"30am.
    • Seniors will come to the office to attend an activity coordinated by Hebni Nutrition from 8:30-9:30am

    Qualifications:

    We’re looking for volunteers who:

    • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Enjoy working with diverse groups
    • Are punctual, reliable, and committed
    • Are willing to follow program guidelines and training
    • [Optional: any specific skills like experience with adults/seniors/children, etc.]
    • Training and materials will be provided.

    What You’ll Gain

Volunteers in this position will receive:

    • Structured training and support from program staff
    • Opportunities to build facilitation and leadership skills
    • Regular check-ins and community with fellow volunteers
    • A chance to directly impact [community/participants]
