    About the Africa Investment Network (AIN)

    The Africa Investment Network (AIN) is a nonprofit organization advancing trade, investment, and strategic partnerships between Africa, the African diaspora, and global markets. Through initiatives such as the Global Africa Summit (GAS) series, strategic roundtables, networking convenings, and the emerging 6Africa platform, AIN connects leaders, institutions, investors, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to drive inclusive economic growth and collaboration.

    Position Overview

    The Event Planning & Programs Fellow will support the planning, coordination, and execution of AIN’s growing portfolio of events and ecosystem engagement activities.

    This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about creating impactful experiences that bring together diverse stakeholders across Africa and global markets.

    The fellow will work closely with AIN leadership and partners to support:

    • Global Africa Summit (GAS) events
    • Roundtables and policy discussions
    • Networking receptions and member engagement events
    • Virtual convenings and webinars
    • Strategic partnership activations and ecosystem programs

    Key Responsibilities

    Event Planning & Coordination

    • Support planning and execution of in-person and virtual events
    • Assist with event timelines, logistics, and operational coordination
    • Coordinate invitations, registrations, and attendee communications
    • Help manage speaker, sponsor, and partner coordination
    • Track event deliverables, schedules, and follow-ups

    Program & Stakeholder Support

    • Support coordination of AIN programs and ecosystem initiatives
    • Assist with outreach and engagement of attendees, speakers, and partners
    • Help facilitate communication between internal teams and external stakeholders
    • Support member engagement and networking activities

    Operations & Event Administration

    • Maintain event trackers, planning documents, and registration lists
    • Support preparation of agendas, briefing materials, and run-of-show documents
    • Assist with event check-in, participant management, and post-event follow-up
    • Help identify opportunities to improve participant experience and engagement

    Marketing & Communications Support

    • Coordinate with communications and design teams to support event promotion
    • Assist with social media and marketing coordination related to events
    • Support distribution of event updates, reminders, and participant communications

    Qualifications

    • Student, recent graduate, or early-career professional interested in event management, international affairs, business, communications, or related fields
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
    • Passion for Africa-focused development, trade, investment, or global engagement

    Preferred:

    • Prior event planning or program coordination experience
    • Familiarity with platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Eventbrite/Zeffy, Canva, or project management tools
    • Experience supporting conferences, nonprofit events, or professional networking initiatives

    • Fellowship term: 6–12 months
