Our hospice patients are in need of kind visitor volunteers to provide them with extra socialization/company. No experience is necessary, and all training requirements are completed at our office at no expense to the volunteer. A volunteer visit looks like a conversation over a cup of coffee, holding a patient's hand to provide comfort, listening to a patient's life experiences, reading to a patient, playing music for or playing cards/games with a patient or watching a movie together.
Volunteers do not perform any hands-on care but provide our hospice patients with increased socialization or a respite break for family members so that they can do things such as grocery shopping or attending their own medical appointments. The schedule is flexible and can be made to meet your specific scheduling needs. Driving to and from the patient's residence is necessary for this volunteer opportunity. If you would rather assist in our office, we are always in need of office volunteers.
The impact of a caring person is immeasurable. Please feel free to reach out with any questions! We are here to support throughout your volunteer experience.
"The last good thing that may happen in a person's life is a hospice volunteer." -Unknown
