AI , Cyber Security & Blockchain Specialist (Must be Experienced)

Provide high-level administrative and executive support to the CEO, managing schedules, communication, and projects while upholding Tikanga Māori and Kaupapa Māori values.

**The Role**

We are recruiting a senior Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security & Blockchain Specialist to oversee the Trust’s advanced technology environment. You will lead the development, implementation, and protection of AI-driven systems, cybersecurity frameworks, and blockchain architectures.

This role is critical to ensuring the Trust’s data, digital platforms, and confidential projects remain secure, efficient, and resilient.

**Key Responsibilities**

*Artificial Intelligence (AI)*

• Develop AI tools to support automation, analytics, research, and workflow optimisation.
• Build and maintain machine learning, NLP, and OCR-based systems.
• Ensure AI systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with organisational requirements.

*Cyber Security*

• Lead cybersecurity strategy, policy development, and risk management.
• Implement advanced protection measures including encryption, access control, and firewall systems.
• Conduct regular threat assessments, penetration testing, and incident response planning.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST, and other relevant standards.

*Blockchain & Data Integrity*

• Design and implement blockchain-based solutions for verification, audit trails, and secure digital records.
• Develop smart contracts and hashing mechanisms for data authentication.
• Oversee integration of blockchain with AI and cybersecurity frameworks.

*Data Architecture & Infrastructure*

• Manage secure database design and digital information systems.
• Lead data governance, access management, retention, and backup processes.
• Provide technical guidance on cloud security and hybrid infrastructure environments.

*Technical Leadership*

• Provide senior technical advice to the CEO and leadership team.
• Develop documentation, architecture models, risk reports, and compliance frameworks.
• Support capability building and training across the organisation.

**About You**

We are seeking a senior professional with the following:

*Technical Expertise*

• Proven experience in AI, machine learning, and automation systems
• Advanced cybersecurity engineering and governance experience
• Strong blockchain development and distributed-ledger architecture

*knowledge*

• Proficiency in programming (Python, Solidity, JavaScript, C++, or similar)
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Expertise in database design (SQL/NoSQL)

*Professional Skills*

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality
• Senior-level judgement and leadership capability
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

*Qualifications*

• Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, AI, Information Systems, or related field
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, Security+, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, or Blockchain Developer
• 5–10+ years senior experience in related fields
• Equivalent experience will also be considered
