Volunteer Cat Caregiver - 12 Months

We’d Love to Have You on our Team!

Caring for Cats is dedicated to maintaining and improving the lives of cats and kittens through positive human/feline experiences.

Our nonprofit is a volunteer-driven, no-kill cat shelter and foster network. As a member of our volunteer team, you can be part of the mission to provide compassionate care and help find loving homes for the cats and kittens in our care. As a Caring for Cats volunteer, you also represent the shelter to the general public and to potential adopters who wish to provide a forever home.

Join us as a Cat Caregiver

We are looking for long-term volunteers who are 18+ and can make a commitment of at least 12 months as Cat Caregivers in our bright, welcoming shelter in North St. Paul. We have a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends open right now.

Scoop litter, clean various shelter areas, sweep and mop the floors, feed the cats and kittens, provide basic grooming and socializing, and provide much-needed love and attention.

Physical requirements include standing, bending, reaching, and lifting. This is a typical starting role for new volunteers without previous shelter experience but it is a critical role in keeping the shelter clean, healthy, and safe for the cats and other volunteers.

    Minimum age requirement 18 years.

What does the MN Board of Animal Health say about Caring for Cats?

“This is a well-managed, immaculate facility.”

“This feline rescue facility is an important resource for the community.”

“This facility is bright, quiet, compassionate, and well organized.”

    “Standards of care are exceptional.”

Our Cat Caregivers and other volunteers are the reason we can provide such a high level of care for the cats at our shelter.
