Become a Scholarship Mentor this Spring!

Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) is recruiting community members with a passion for access, youth development, and mentorship to join our Scholarship Mentors cohort this Spring! Mentors will meet with their mentees weekly and provide in-depth support during the Scholarship Application Process.

What is a Scholarship Mentor?

HOLA mentors and students develop long-term relationships to ensure the success of each HOLA student. Mentors are asked to commit to supporting 1-3 mentees 1x a week for about an hour from February 18th to April 29th.

Throughout this session, mentors will support high school seniors by:

• Assist students in developing their college list
• Brainstorm, revise, and refine personal statements and college essays
• Provide youth, college, and career mentorship
• Build long-lasting mentorships with the future leaders of our community!

What are the Requirements?

• Mentors must have a Bachelor's Degree or higher.
• Ability to commit to meeting with mentees 1x a week on Wednesdays @ 6 PM - 7 PM.
• Attend 1 of the Mentor Orientations on February 8th @ 6 PM to 7 PM (in person) or February 15th @ 6 PM - 7 PM (via Zoom).
