Descripción
Descripción
Do you want to help low-income families improve their financial futures? You can by volunteering with MFS CASH Oregon!
Our team of over 330 volunteers helps thousands of low-income, working families access important tax credits and overcome the stress and barriers to filing their taxes each year—and you can too!
Not a tax expert? No problem! There are volunteer roles for all interests, including tax preparers, tax site greeters, client scheduling volunteers, and interpreters. Plus, MFS CASH Oregon provides free virtual training and ongoing support.
To be a great volunteer, you just need to be:
- Compassionate and friendly
- Comfortable working with a diverse group of clients
- Willing to ask questions
- Willing to learn new skills
Virtual and in-person opportunities are available. 4 hours/week commitment during tax season.
As a volunteer you have the chance to:
- Boost your knowledge about taxes and personal finance while helping hardworking families keep more of what they earn
- Fight poverty by helping lower-income families access important tax credits and significantly increase their refunds each year
- Gain hands-on experience working with diverse populations and increase cultural competency, including immigrants, refugees, and Limited English Proficient (LEP) taxpayers
- Build your resume or gain relevant job skills
- Practice and improve second language skills (if applicable)
Volunteer schedules are flexible, and we have 18 different tax site locations to choose from. We only ask for a 4-hour per week commitment during tax season (late January through mid-April)
