Concert Ushers -Chamber Music Concert - September 11, 2026

Volunteers help set up the church, distribute programs, usher patrons, scan tickets, provide information and directions, assist with the quick tidying of the church. Volunteers are seated during the concert.

The Washington Bach Consort proudly presents Danqi Zeng, Grand Prize winner of the 2025 Lillian & Maurice Barbash International J.S. Bach Competition—a forum devoted exclusively to Bach’s unaccompanied string works. A rising figure in historical performance, Zeng is praised for her eloquence, stylistic insight, and naturally communicative artistry. Her interpretations unite rhetorical clarity with expressive freedom, illuminating the contours, contrasts, and emotional depth of Bach’s solo violin writing.

This intimate chamber program offers a rare opportunity to experience Zeng’s artistry up close, revealing the colors made possible by gut strings, the nuance of Baroque bowing, and the depth of engagement that historically informed technique can bring to these masterworks.
