Financial Literacy Instructor, Coach, & Mentor (on line)

Do you have a strong financial background and a passion for teaching and giving back?

We are building a team of dedicated Volunteer Financial Literacy Instructor-Coaches & Guides to work one-on-one with clients enrolled in SCORE’s personal financial literacy program, MONEY 101 EDUCATION. www.money101education.com

The program builds practical skills and confidence and helps individuals increase their net worth by making smarter choices. This is a meaningful opportunity to use your financial knowledge and communication skills to make a real difference in people’s lives.

The Role

• • Conduct an initial getting-to-know-you interview with the client to build a trusted mentor-mentee relationship.
  • Send the client pre-recorded class videos plus assignments. The curriculum is already set. We cover a wide range of topics, including employment, budgeting, saving, credit, and financial decision-making.
  • After the client views the class video and completes an assignment, meet with the student to review their work - this is where you create the magic by answering their questions and helping them apply the concepts and best practices to their own life.
  • Client meetings are online via Zoom or Google Meet - they are conversational and interactive; this is not a lecture-based role.

We’re Looking for Volunteers who:

• • Are age 25 or older and based in the United States
  • Have worked for a W-2 or 1099 within the past ten years.
  • Have a strong background in finance, accounting, banking, investing, taxation, real estate, and retirement planning, or related fields
  • Have excellent spoken communication and language skills
  • Comfortable with technology (Word, Excel, Google Meet, Zoom)
  • A genuine love of teaching, mentoring, and helping others learn
  • Patient, approachable, and comfortable
  • Available to volunteer service for at least a year, 8 hours a month (after training)

Compensation
