    Help Seniors Remain Safely and Independently in Their Homes

    South Shore Elder Services (SSES) is seeking reliable, trustworthy volunteers to serve as Money Manager Advocates, helping older adults maintain financial stability so they can continue living independently in their homes.

    Money Manager Advocates provide practical financial assistance and advocacy, supporting seniors who may have difficulty managing monthly bills or navigating communications with service providers.

    What You’ll Do

    As a Money Manager Advocate, you will:

    • Assist seniors with paying bills on time and organizing monthly finances
    • Help clients maintain good credit standing
    • Advocate on behalf of seniors with vendors such as utilities, cable, phone, and other service providers
    • Support problem‑solving related to billing questions, overcharges, or service issues
    • Provide reassurance and stability through ongoing, respectful support

    Service Settings

    Money Manager Advocates work with seniors in:

    • Private residences
    • Senior housing communities

    Time Commitment

    • Flexible scheduling
    • Ongoing, recurring volunteer role, based on client needs

    Requirements

    To volunteer, you must:

    • Be age 21 or older
    • Complete a background check
    • Have a valid driver’s license
    • Be comfortable with basic home finance tasks such as budgeting, bill review, and organization
    • Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and reliability

    This role is well‑suited for volunteers who enjoy organization, problem‑solving, and advocacy, and who want to help older adults remain financially secure and independent.
