Locate Read in Color Little Free Libraries in Niagara

Calling all amateur detectives! We are seeking volunteers to locate, photograph, document, and stock select Little Free Library book-sharing boxes in the greater Niagara area. Locations are in Lockport, North Tonawanda, Sanborn, Niagara Falls, and Barker. You get to choose which of the identified locations you visit.

Purpose: Confirming the locations and conditions of these Read in Color libraries will enable the Little Free Library organization to better support their stewards and the communities they serve.

    Responsibilities:

    • Visit Read in Color Little Free Library locations according to the route you have chosen from a list of addresses we provide
    • Take a photo of the library (or the location where the library should be located)
    • Note the condition of the library
    • Note the library charter number
    • Optional: add books to the library and check in to the library in the mobile app when possible
    • Communicate with Little Free Library staff about the process, challenges, and questions.
    • Complete the library locator spreadsheet with details from the libraries you visited by October 31.
    • Submit an Impact form in our Team LFL volunteer hub when you’re done with the project.

Training & Resources Available: Registered volunteers will receive an email with instructions for completing this project.

Benefits: This is a flexible volunteer opportunity that can fit around your other commitments. You’ll receive a free Team LFL t-shirt after you submit your Impact form!

Supervision & Support: Lexie Neeley, Little Free Library Program Manager, will be available to answer any questions you have as you volunteer.
