At Medcare Hospice, our Pet Therapy Volunteers help brighten the lives of patients facing serious illness by sharing the unconditional love and calming presence of their certified therapy animals.
Whether it's sparking a smile, easing feelings of loneliness, or creating a moment of joy, every visit makes a lasting impact.

Pet Requirements
To help ensure the safety and comfort of everyone involved, therapy animals should:
- Be certified through a recognized therapy animal organization
- Be friendly, calm, and comfortable around new people
- Be up to date on vaccinations and veterinary care
- Be well-groomed and clean before each visit
- Follow handler commands consistently
Documentation may be requested during the onboarding process.

Who Can Apply?
We're looking for compassionate volunteers who:

- ❤️ Have excellent communication skills
- ❤️ Are dependable and respectful
- ❤️ Have a calm, friendly temperament
- ❤️ Own a certified therapy dog (or other approved therapy animal)
- ❤️ Are willing to complete volunteer orientation
