Descripción
Homework Club is looking for compassionate and dedicated adult tutors to help elementary students strengthen their foundation academic skills.
- Your Commitment: You will tutor 2-3 students from 2nd to 5th grade students for English and/or math.
- Who We Need: Individuals who are patient, supportive, and passionate about empowering others through student centered education.
Duties (may include):
After attending tutor training, the following is expected
- Meet regularly and punctually with your learner(s)
- Plan and conduct lessons tailored to your learner’s specific needs, learning styles, and interests
- Review and reinforce learning frequently – praise often
- Attend two facilitating continuing education workshops within the year
- Check in with the Youth Program Coordinator regularly concerning learner progress
We ensure all our volunteers are well-prepared for success:
- Training: You will receive free, in-depth training in effective reading and math instruction strategies tailored for elementary students.
- Requirements: Volunteers must be 18 or older and attend a one-time orientation.
