The Centre for Youth and Sustainable Development (CYSD) is a grassroots nonprofit organization founded in 2019 in response to the ongoing socio-political crisis in the English-speaking regions of Cameroon. The conflict has forced thousands of families into displacement, leaving many children out of school for years, especially in hard-to-reach and conflict-affected communities.
CYSD works directly with displaced and vulnerable children to provide education in emergencies, literacy support, child protection services, and access to basic learning materials. Since its creation, CYSD has supported learning for thousands of children who would otherwise have no access to education.
About the Volunteer Role
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate volunteers to support our fundraising efforts to purchase textbooks and basic learning materials for out-of-school children affected by the crisis.
Textbooks remain one of the biggest barriers to education in displaced communities. Many children attend temporary learning spaces without books, making effective learning extremely difficult. Your support will directly help children return to learning and rebuild hope for the future.

Why This Matters
Due to the crisis in Cameroon’s English-speaking regions, thousands of children have missed years of schooling. With your support, CYSD can provide textbooks that help children learn to read, write, and regain lost education, even in the most challenging environments.
