Help Distribute Toiletries and other items at a Community Meal

The Chicago Help Initiative hosts a weekly community meal on Wednesdays at the Catholic Charities building. We serve around 160 people each week. In addition to our meal, we offer a variety of peer groups, we have a clothing room, and we operate a necessities store. The store is where people come to request items like shampoo, Narcan, socks and all sorts of other items that they need. We have one volunteer who Is in charge of stocking and staffing this free store, but she could really use an assistant.

You will be working with a population that is mostly homeless, elderly, and/or mentally ill. We need a volunteer who enjoys helping people and who is extremely patient.
