Every community has stories worth telling. Sometimes, those stories just need someone to help them be heard.

The Gracefull Table Community Kitchen is a Garland-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing free, freshly prepared meals through welcoming, restaurant-style dining experiences.

We believe food has the power to bring people together, restore dignity, and create meaningful human connections.

We're seeking a Public Relations & Community Media Volunteer who can help us share our story with local newspapers, television stations, radio programs, community publications, and other media outlets.

Responsibilities:

• Research relevant local media outlets and community publications.
• Develop media contact lists.
• Write and distribute press releases.
• Pitch stories about our mission, community meals, and events.
• Identify interview and feature opportunities.
• Help prepare media talking points and organizational background materials.
• Build professional relationships with local journalists and community media.
• Assist with publicizing fundraising events and organizational milestones.

Qualifications:

• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Interest or experience in public relations, journalism, media, or nonprofit communications.
• Ability to identify compelling stories and communicate them effectively.
• Professional, organized, and dependable.
• Comfortable contacting media representatives.
• Experience with media pitching is helpful but not required.

Other Details:

This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity with flexible scheduling. Most responsibilities can be completed remotely.

Media communications and public statements will be coordinated with organizational leadership.
