Pro Bono Legal Support: Trademark & Brand Protection Review
Descripción
Descripción
I Want To Mow Your Lawn Inc. is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit that connects older adults, veterans, people with disabilities, and neighbors in need with volunteers who provide free yard work relief.
We are seeking a volunteer attorney, in-house counsel, or law firm to provide initial pro bono legal guidance around trademark, intellectual property, nonprofit brand protection, and related website/technology considerations.
This opportunity involves a confidential review of a potential brand-protection concern involving public-facing similarities to our nonprofit’s name, service model, website structure, language, and positioning. We are not seeking immediate litigation support. We are looking for thoughtful legal triage, issue spotting, and guidance on the appropriate next step.
Ideal support may include reviewing a short summary and supporting materials, advising on trademark or trade dress considerations, helping us understand legal risks, reviewing evidence-preservation practices, and determining whether a formal attorney letter or other response may be appropriate.
Because this involves a sensitive matter, we would start with a conflict check before sharing detailed materials. The initial commitment can be limited to a 30–60 minute call and a brief review. Additional support would be welcome if there is mutual fit.
Ideal volunteer background includes one or more of the following: trademark law, intellectual property, nonprofit law, brand protection, internet/technology law, cease-and-desist or demand letter review, or general counsel experience for nonprofits or mission-driven organizations.
