Help Us Bring Donor Appreciation Events to Life!

Hero To A Child is planning two special major donor appreciation events in February 2027, one in Pinellas County and one in Pasco County, and the work starts now!

We are looking for a small team of hands-on volunteers to help us take these events from ideas to reality.

These events will give us an opportunity to say thank you to some of the generous supporters whose investment makes our work with children and young adults in foster care possible. We want to create something memorable and meaningful while being thoughtful with the dollars entrusted to our organization.

Our greatest need is doers, volunteers who are comfortable taking ownership of a task and helping carry it through from start to finish.

Beginning this fall, volunteers can help:

• • Reach out to local businesses to secure in-kind donations such as desserts, wine, beverages, florals, décor, printing, photography and other event needs
  • Research community resources and potential in-kind or discounted goods and services
  • Research vendors, gather quotes and help identify budget-friendly options
  • Help source materials and supplies once event concepts are established
  • Help create or assemble décor, signage, invitations and other event materials
  • Pick up donations or supplies as needed
  • Assist with other event planning and preparation needs as they arise

Creativity and ideas are always welcome, but our greatest need is volunteers who are excited to turn ideas into action.

You don't have to do everything. Maybe you're comfortable reaching out to businesses and making an ask. Perhaps you're great at researching options and comparing prices, finding creative solutions on a tight budget, designing or creating materials, or simply taking a project and running with it.

Professional event-planning experience isn't necessary. Reliability, follow-through and a willingness to jump in and help are what matter most.
