2026 Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day - Georgia

Events: 2026 Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day

    Date: Saturday, February 28, 2026

This is a special opportunity in 2026 to host a weekend long fun experience. Tentative Friday kickoff party with DJ, food, and activities, and Sunday Brunch ceremony to congratulate winning teams from Saturday at the venue. Our team is negotiating possible room block rates for volunteers and team participants interested in staying the full weekend (Friday-Sunday) for a full weekend of fun, learning, and playing during this event.

Introduce a GIRL to Engineering Day is a SPARK S.T.E.M 365 event in Atlanta, GA during the week of National Engineering Week February 2025 it is a behind-the-scenes educational experience offered in a community or business STEM GO-LIVE productive environment to educate, initiate, and innovate young minds of tomorrow for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics careers exploration every February each year during the National Engineering Week.

Volunteers will support team breaks, food runners, and STEM gaming sessions that will teach students about the educational benefits of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) careers and fields through tech maker activity play.

A background screening is required for all volunteers annually. All school boards require a separate volunteer application and background screening for on-campus event participation.

We value the volunteers, students, parents, schools, and communities we serve. All confirmed volunteers during the selection process are required to complete a child sexual abuse awareness training, reference checks (for specific volunteer roles), and background checks for onsite, in-person events and program volunteer opportunities. All volunteers over the age of 17 must contribute a $20 donation toward the $35 annual background processing fee through the National Council for Safety Initiative (NCSI) organization. The National STEM Society will cover the remaining balance.

All confirmed volunteers are required to complete a child sexual abuse awareness training.

Submitting a volunteer application or inquiry does not guarantee placement as a volunteer.

Volunteer candidates will be accepted on an event or program needs basis that matches the candidate's interest and have completed the NCSI background screening process. Incomplete volunteer applications or background screening acceptance will not be considered for review.

If there is a suitable volunteer opportunity, you will be contacted by an Activities Coordinator. All volunteer applications will be kept on file for one year in our Volunteer Database.

Benefits of volunteering with us: (We appreciate you!)
