Dining Site Assistant in Stow

Help one or two days a week on Tuesday or Thursday, (from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.) and create a warm and welcoming dining experience for older adults to socialize with friends who come together during the Senior Dining Program at the Stow Council on Aging at the Pompositticut Community Center, Stow, MA.

We are looking for the Volunteer Dining Site Assistant who can take the lead and be responsible for the following tasks:

• Receive meals from catering service and assist with daily Meals on Wheels coordination including cold pack production and packing hot meals into thermal bags.
• Set up dining area for lunch service. Serve lunch and clean up.
• Ensure timely delivery of meals.
• Implement and maintain food handling practices and procedures for dining and Meals on Wheels that adhere to agency standards and local fire, health, sanitation, and safety codes.
• Keep required records and statistics and supervise the counting of cash and check receipts. Give collected donations to Stow Council on Aging weekly.
• Wear Minuteman apron and/or name badge.
• Display a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous, and professional attitude while working as a team member and pitching in as necessary.
• Perform other duties including driving and delivering meals to home-bound seniors within service area when needed.
