HAWKS Nest Wednesdays: guests “visit the nest” to share with students
Descripción
Descripción
The Horizon Science Academy After School Program serves students in Pre-K through 6th grade, in two groups: Pre-K–2nd and 3rd–6th. Our goal is to give kids a safe, joyful space to learn, create, and connect beyond the school day and that's where you come in.
We welcome volunteers during the after school program hours and we especially need guests for our Wednesdays since it's early dismissal.
What could you share? It can be simple:
- A culture talk or story from your heritage
- An art project or a silly dance
- Career coaching or a "day in my job" talk
- Games and relationship-building activities
- Social-emotional skills, kindness, and anti-bullying
- Meditation or mindfulness
- Self-defense, hygiene, or safety education
- Reading a favorite book aloud
- A talk on any age-appropriate topic you love
Wednesday details:
- Program hours: 1:00–5:45 PM
- Guest workshop window: 2:00–4:00 PM
Feel free to use this as a chance to introduce your business or organization ❤️ while bonding with some wonderful children and families.
Background checks are required for all volunteers — don't worry, we'll take care of getting them done for you.
If you have friends, coworkers, or neighbors who'd love to volunteer, please pass this along! Everyone has something to offer, and our students benefit from every new face and perspective.
