Purpose of the Role
Ensure our makerspace shows up professionally and effectively at approved events by planning, coordinating, and executing logistics from start to finish.
What You’ll Do
- Take the lead on planning events approved by the board, such as:
- Community festivals
- Trade shows
- Open houses
- Outreach or fundraising events
- Create simple event plans and timelines
- Recruit and coordinate volunteers for:
- Event setup
- Staffing during the event
- Teardown
- Serve as the primary point of contact before and during events
- Capture notes or lessons learned to improve future events
Time Commitment
- Varies by event
- Light planning work leading up to events + on-site time the day of
- Estimated average: 2–4 hours per week, more during event weeks
Skills That Help
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable coordinating people and logistics
- Enjoys events, community engagement, and problem-solving
- Prior event planning experience helpful but not required
