    Engagement & Inclusion Specialist (Remote/Unpaid Volunteer):

    Empowered Futures invites you to join as an Engagement & Inclusion Specialist—a vital role focused on fostering a connected, inclusive, and motivated community across all EF participants, including volunteers, mentors, and mentees. Our mission is to empower emerging adults through mentorship, self-development, and community support, creating pathways to confident, resilient adulthood.

    In this role, you will lead engagement initiatives that strengthen relationships, champion inclusivity, and promote a culture where everyone feels valued, heard, and inspired to contribute meaningfully to Empowered Futures’ impact.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design and implement engagement strategies that promote inclusivity and sustained participation across volunteers, mentors, and mentees.
    • Manage and activate communication platforms such as newsletters, Slack channels, and community forums to facilitate connection and dialogue.
    • Develop recognition programs that celebrate diverse contributions and foster a culture of appreciation and belonging.
    • Plan and facilitate community-building events, virtual meetups, and peer networking opportunities.
    • Collect, analyze, and report on engagement data and community feedback to guide continuous improvement and inclusivity efforts.
    • Collaborate with Learning & Development, Organizational Development, and People Operations teams to align engagement initiatives with onboarding, training, and culture-building activities.
    • Support in creating recognition frameworks, engagement training activities and policy development.
    • Act as an advocate for inclusive practices and equity throughout volunteer, mentor, and mentee engagement.
    • Provide training to community members in different rewards and recognition schemes and engagement content.

    Qualifications:

    • 1 - 2 years experience in community engagement, volunteer coordination, DEI initiatives, or related roles (paid or volunteer).
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, adept at engaging diverse groups remotely.
    • Familiarity with digital collaboration tools like Slack, Google Workspace, email marketing, video conferencing, and survey platforms.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, volunteer-driven environment.
    • Experience analyzing engagement data and using feedback to inform program enhancements is an asset.
    • Experience in facilitating virtual training sessions and activities relating to engagement content.
    • Experience in total rewards & recognition framework an assets.
    • Commitment to the mission of youth empowerment, mentorship, and inclusive volunteerism.
