Position Summary
The Senior Advisor for Communications Department serves as a strategic leader and trusted counsel to campaign leadership on all communications matters. This role provides high-level guidance on messaging, media strategy, and public positioning, ensuring the campaign’s communications efforts are cohesive, proactive, and aligned with overall campaign objectives. The Senior Advisor works across departments to shape narrative strategy and manage complex or high-stakes communications moments.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise senior campaign leadership on overall communications strategy, messaging direction, and media positioning
- Provide strategic oversight to public relations, digital, and content teams to ensure alignment and message discipline
- Assist in shaping long-term narrative strategy and response planning for major campaign milestones
- Guide messaging during crisis situations, opposition attacks, or rapidly evolving political developments
- Review and provide feedback on speeches, press statements, op-eds, and major communications materials
- Support debate preparation, media training, and high-profile interviews for the candidate
- Monitor political, media, and cultural trends to identify opportunities and potential risks
- Serve as a key liaison between the communications department and senior campaign leadership
