Join the AFS Carolinas East Team in the Raleigh-Durham area and beyond!
Are you passionate about cultural exchange and eager to make a meaningful impact in your community?
Volunteering with AFS-USA is a powerful way to use your skills and talents to foster life-changing intercultural experiences. For more than 75 years, AFS-USA has connected people across cultures through international exchange programs that promote global citizenship, understanding, and respect. As a volunteer, you would help create a positive, supportive, and enriching environment for exchange students, host families, fellow volunteers, and local schools.
How You Can Make a Difference
- Mentor & Support: Guide exchange students and host families through their cultural journeys, offering support and facilitating orientations with fellow volunteers.
- Be a Community Ambassador: Serve as an AFS champion by sharing the magic of cultural exchange with local schools, civic organizations, and community groups.
- Inspire Local Youth: Join study abroad volunteers to recruit, interview, and prepare U.S. students taking their first steps toward studying abroad.
- Cultivate Connection: Help organize engaging local gatherings, connect with prospective host families, and recruit new volunteers.
Whether you can offer a few hours a month or want to step into a larger leadership opportunity, there is a place for you in our community, with guidance and training provided. By joining the AFS Carolinas East Team, you will build global friendships, develop intercultural leadership skills, and contribute directly to global peace and understanding—no passport required!
