At Amedisys Hospice, we are committed to providing compassionate care to individuals at the end of their life journey. We are looking for Volunteer Tuck-In Callers to make a meaningful difference by offering comfort and companionship to our patients during their final stages of life.

Position Overview: As a Hospice Volunteer Tuck-In Caller, you will reach out to patients and their families at the end of each day, offering a caring voice, checking on their well-being, and ensuring they feel supported and reassured. Your calls will help create a sense of peace and connection, allowing patients and families to rest easier knowing they are not alone.

Key Responsibilities:

• Make weekly phone calls to hospice patients and families to check if they need additional supplies and medications.
• Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and families.
• Document the outcome of each call and report any urgent concerns to the care team.
• Offer a friendly, compassionate, and listening ear during a difficult time.

Qualifications:

• A compassionate, empathetic, and patient demeanor.
• Strong communication skills with an ability to offer comfort through a phone call.
• Ability to handle sensitive conversations with care and respect.
• No prior healthcare experience required-just a heart for helping others.
• A willingness to undergo a background check and training provided by the hospice team.
