Blood Transportation Specialist - Urgent Volunteer needs!

In this challenging moment, the American Red Cross needs your help. Join us as a volunteer Driver to deliver life-saving blood to those in need.

Give, deliver and receive blood, is safe.

The Red Cross collects and provides about 40% of the nation’s blood supply to hospitals and now is facing a severe blood shortage. As a Driver, you will deliver pre-packaged blood products from a Red Cross center to hospitals, using a Red Cross vehicle.

Why is this position important?

When you deliver blood products to a hospital, you’re delivering hope to a person when they need it most. We serve cancer patients, premature babies, trauma victims, and so many more.

Time commitment:1 shift/month (typical shift = 4 hours)

Shifts available 7 days/week, mornings, afternoons, and evenings

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license
• Feel and being healthy
• 21+ years old (60 years old limit)
• Can lift a box from a vehicle to hand cart (box may weigh <45 lbs.)

Safety measures:

• Constant cleaning and disinfecting surfaces
• Gloves supply

Volunteer with a friend or family member! Drivers can be assisted by Navigators, who ride in the vehicle and assist with directions or any other way needed.
