Wildlife Rehabilitation Volunteer – Help Local Wildlife Recover
Descripción
Descripción
Santa Barbara Wildlife Care Network (SBWCN) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing injured, sick, orphaned, and oiled wildlife back into the wild. We care for wildlife throughout Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, and we rely on dedicated volunteers to help give wild animals a second chance at life.
What You'll Do
Volunteers support our wildlife rehabilitation team through a variety of essential tasks, including:
- Animal care and husbandry: Help prepare food, feed patients as directed, clean enclosures, wash dishes, and maintain a safe, sanitary environment.
- Facility support: Assist with laundry, cleaning, gardening, maintenance, and other projects that keep our center running.
- Wildlife rescue and transport: Help transport injured or orphaned wildlife to our facility, depending on training and availability.
- Helpline support: Help community members navigate wildlife-related calls and determine appropriate next steps, with training provided.
Volunteer responsibilities vary by role, training, and current organizational needs.
