Share a Meal and a Smile: Volunteer Drivers Needed for Our Homebound Neighbors

The holiday season and winter months can be the loneliest time of year for our homebound seniors. We need compassionate Volunteer Meal Delivery Drivers to ensure these neighbors receive a nutritious meal and, just as important, a friendly, caring connection.

Join our team based out of the Trabuco Senior Center in Irvine.

Your Impact This Season

When you deliver a meal, you are delivering much more than food—you are providing a vital safety check and a cheerful moment for a population that often cannot leave their homes. This is a fantastic opportunity to make an immediate and personal difference right here in our community when it matters most.

The Commitment

• When: Deliveries take place at least one day a week, Monday through Friday.
• Timeframe: You’ll arrive at an area Senior Center pickup location between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Routes usually take only 1 to 1.5 hours to complete.

Choose Your Volunteer Style

We offer flexible options to fit your holiday schedule:

• Permanent Drivers: Commit to a regular weekly schedule and build a consistent relationship with the seniors on your route.
• Substitute Drivers: Crucial for the holidays! We need reliable substitutes to cover for our regular drivers who take time off. We will contact you when a regularly scheduled driver is unavailable, trying to give a week or two notice, though sometimes we may only have one day's notice.

Requirements to Get Started

To ensure the safety of our clients and staff:

• You must be 18 years or older to drive.
• We require a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
• Completion of an online Volunteer Application & background check.

Note: Minors are welcome to accompany an adult driver with proper documentation on file.
