Publicity Outreach

Diablo Valley Literacy Council (DVLC) is an all-volunteer organization whose mission is to assist adults in the Diablo Valley (Central Costa County) area who need to improve their English as a second language. We offer free, flexible one-on-one ESL tutoring. We are seeking the following role - Social Media/Publicity Outreach

This role includes the following:

• Coordinating advertising and communication regarding recruitment of volunteers for DVLC
• Managing the DVLC VolunteerMatch account. Use VolunteerMatch to recruit volunteers, board members (when needed) and to post current workshop dates.
• Managing and maintaining an e-mail contact list, and communicating to local community and neighborhood organizations regarding volunteer tutor recruitment and sharing current training dates (twice a year -- spring and fall.)
• Social media - manage Facebook, LinkedIn and others portals that would promote DVLC's literacy mission.
• Managing existing, and seeking new/alternative ways to recruit volunteers.
• Attending local community events to find tutors and (when needed) students.
