Role Description:
As a Virtual Volunteer Tutor, you’ll provide one-on-one academic support to students from K-12 grade through online sessions. Tutors will help students with homework, clarify key concepts, and build their confidence in core subjects such as math, reading, writing, and science. All sessions take place virtually, and training and support are provided.
Responsibilities:
- Tutor students virtually in 40-minute sessions (subjects based on your strengths and student needs)
- Help students understand their assignments and develop problem-solving skills
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and respectful learning environment
- Log brief session notes after each session to track student progress
- Communicate promptly with the EduSpark team regarding scheduling or student needs
Qualifications:
- High school student, college student, or adult with strong academic skills
- Reliable internet connection and ability to use Zoom
- Patience, strong communication skills, and a genuine desire to help students
- Prior tutoring experience is a plus, but not required (training is provided)
Time Commitment:
- Minimum of 2 hours per month (you can choose your shifts based on availability)
- Flexible scheduling with options to volunteer more hours if desired
