Food Distribution & Logistics Assistant: Support WAWAC’s Food Justice mission by coordinating logistics and ensuring smooth food distribution.

The Washington West African Center (WAWAC) is seeking a Food Distribution & Logistics Assistant to support our Food Justice pillar. This role helps ensure culturally relevant foods are efficiently packaged, transported, and distributed to community members in a welcoming and organized way.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and coordinating food distribution events
• Support logistics for packaging perishable and non‑perishable items
• Help manage supplies, storage, and transportation arrangements
• Track distribution data and report on resource utilization
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure smooth operations
• Promote a positive, respectful experience for families receiving food

Requirements

All WAWAC volunteers must complete:

• Volunteer Agreement
• Model Release form
