Camp Connect is an overnight summer camp for siblings that are impacted by foster care to have uninterrupted time together to bond and be kids. Camp Connect takes place May 30th-June 5th, 2026 at YMCA Camp Shady Brook in Deckers, CO, and includes classic summer camp activities, such as horseback riding, canoeing, archery, swimming, climbing, etc, and our own signature activities such as visual and performing arts activities, a carnival, and a pj dance party.
The Volunteer Camp Counselor is a role that is essential to camp operations. Camp Counselors are responsible for the 24-hour care of a group of children and youth campers during the five days of camp. They help to maintain the camp schedule, and help organize and facilitate camp activities. Counselors ensure that camp rules and regulations are followed and that safety is maintained for all participants. Camp counselors are trusting, caring adults that attend to the campers’ needs as well as the needs of the 'family group’ and 'cabin group’, as directed/led by the Family Group Lead and the Cabin Group Lead.
Volunteers will need to be present at camp from Saturday, May 30th at 9am to Friday, June 5th at 3pm. This includes two days of mandatory training (May 30th and 31st). No experience necessary. All meals provided. Background check required.
