Descripción
Descripción
Are you ready to make a lasting impact on members of your community?
Join us in our mission to promote literacy! Engage with fellow community members by leading a themed group discussion, supporting literacy skills such as reading, writing, and speaking in a low stakes social setting and with the support of the Literacy team.
You do not need to have prior experience, speak another language, or even have a college degree to be an effective conversation group lead, only an interest in empowering members of the community.
English Conversation Group meets every Monday (except holidays) from 5-6pm and takes place in-person at the Simi Valley Public Library's community room, located at 2969 Tapo Canyon Road, Simi Valley, CA 93063.
English conversation group leads are responsible for:
- Meeting with a small group of English Language Learners to practice speaking and conversation skills
- Creating a themed agenda to guide discussion (examples provided).
- Committing to lead discussion at least twice a month for a minumum of three months.
