Volunteer: Help Grow a Brooklyn Community Garden

Grow With Us: Build a Brooklyn Community Garden

Find Community Connection Project is building a team of volunteers to help develop a new Community Wellness Garden in Brooklyn.

We are seeking students, community residents, gardeners, environmental advocates, educators, and other volunteers who want to help plan, build, plant, and maintain a meaningful community green space.

The project will bring youth, families, and neighbors together to learn about gardening, healthy food, environmental responsibility, wellness, and community service. Volunteers can participate in the project’s planning stage, educational workshops, community outreach, garden-building days, and ongoing maintenance.

    VOLUNTEER ROLES

    Volunteers may assist with:

    • Researching community gardening and environmental topics
    • Developing gardening workshops and educational materials
    • Planning the garden layout
    • Recruiting volunteers and conducting community outreach
    • Organizing supplies and donated materials
    • Building and preparing raised garden beds
    • Planting flowers, herbs, and vegetables
    • Watering, weeding, cleaning, and maintaining the garden
    • Supporting youth and family gardening activities
    • Taking photographs and creating social media content
    • Tracking participation and documenting the project’s impact
    • Helping coordinate volunteer days and community events
