SOUTHAMPTON: Befrienders Required

If you enjoy making others feel valued and special, you like a good chat and are 'a people person', this could be the right volunteering opportunity for you! We are seeking caring, compassionate individuals who are willing to befriend vulnerable, often elderly people, and provide friendship and emotional support. This will usually be visiting them at home or although some people would love to be taken out for a coffee or a walk. Communicare in Southampton is a charity and the support we provide to our clients is only possible thanks to our solid bank of volunteers. Whether you can offer 1hr a week or 20hrs, we want to hear from you!

What are we looking for?

• Willing to provide references - Friendly and caring attitude - Good communication skills - Spare time to give on a regular basis (if you need to take periods of 'time out' this isn't a problem, we'd still like to hear from you) - a DBS will be required but we will organise and pay for this.
